Dear POTUS-members,

welcome to the University of Wuppertal and in particular to the Chair of Freight Transport Planning and Transport Logistics. On this website we have gathered some information for your stay in Wuppertal and North-Rhine Westphalia!

The first in-person meeting takes place from 2nd to 3rd June 2025. Our main goal is to develop a shared understanding of the project’s ideas and objectives. Together, we want to:

• Harmonize our definitions and concepts across national contexts – for example, how we understand urban neighborhoods and urban freight 
• Identify potential overlaps and clearly define the boundaries between the different work packages
• Discuss formal requirements we need to keep in mind

Schedule

• 2nd June: Meeting starts at 10 AM
• 3rd June: Meeting starts at 9 AM and will last until around 12 or 1 PM (lunch), depending on your departures

Monday

Block 1 | 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Welcome & Common Ground

Goal: Establish a shared understanding of each partner’s expertise (methods and data), recent developments, and available data; align on key concepts.

Introduction Round

Each partner introduces:

• Current areas of work (methods) and relevant projects for POTUS
• Recent developments or progress: Current data availability, especially in relation to official statistics (collected by federal agencies): Can these data help us on the neighborhood level?

Background, Goals & Objectives of POTUS

• What is the subject of investigation?

  • Urban neighborhoods: 

  • demand side, supply side, relevant target groups

  • What kind of data is required to address the objectives?

• How can shared definitions and terminologies support cross-country collaboration?

Block 2 |  1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. | Lunch & Video

• Lunch Break

Goal: Clarify responsibilities, expectations, and next steps for each WP.

Goal: Plan next steps, align dissemination strategies, and prepare for WP 3.
